This one's for all the epicures: a silky shirt in a print that celebrates indulgence, Roman style.
It’s meticulously cut for a man’s body - but that doesn’t mean it has to be worn by one.
The roomy, straight cut works for everyone - just size down if you’re a woman and prefer a closer fit
For men: fits true to size
/SARK/ - Scottish slang: a shirt or chemise
Lauren Grant launched S.A.R.K to marry her love of fine shirting with her obsession with icons of glamorous vice.
The best of the UK’s textiles industry and heritage have been plundered to go into the making of S.A.R.K – with all shirting designed and manufactured in the UK and Europe and the brand’s name purloined by the founder’s Glaswegian mother.
Lauren, a former stylist (who has worked with the likes of Meryl Streep, Carey Mulligan, Erin O’Connor, Florence Welch, Ellie Goulding and Anna Calvi) founded the label in homage to the shirt, but with a hint of the debauchery that often comes hand in hand with luxury.
“However much I love the idea of women looking sophisticated, classic and French, I also have a desire to inject a sense of humour into clothes and raise eyebrows” - Lauren Grant.
The collection is rooted in images of glamorous and bad behaviour. Anything from the glossy subversiveness of a Guy Bourdin image to an old copy of the Valley of the Dolls, and teen memories like the make-up aisle in Boots and the bathroom cabinets of her friend’s mums.
Quality and provenance are very important to S.A.R.K. All shirting is made using 100% superlative silk and cotton.
